  1. Call to order

  1. Approval of September & November Minutes – Motion by TK second By Lauren (Passed).

  1. Items to Discuss:
    1. Hershey Update – The date set for 2007 is June 30th. Terry will have future meeting with area organizations to discuss volunteer help and logistics. Lauren will be included in these meetings.

    1. Aquatics Branch – Alicia stated that the Workshop is set for May 19th, but the speaker has not been determined. There are a couple of options that they are perusing in a more reasonable fee range. There was a consensus on raising the fee, but without knowing how much the speaker is going to cost we did not determine the amount of increase.

    1. Outdoor Expo – Becky handed out information regarding what the Outdoor Expo is about and informed us of our potential involvement. Kristy moved to make this an item on the next agenda for discussion of what that involvement will be.

    1. Youth Basketball – Kevin was not present, but Billy introduced discussion regarding youth basketball and how it has evolved back into a non-competitive “recreation” area. Several communities gave success and failures with this programming.

    1. AAU Golf Program – Doug wanted to know how many communities had Junior Golf Program and what sanction they were. SDJGA seems to be the main sanction. Doug will have more information for communities at the next meeting, with “state wide youth golf” in mind.

Other Business – No other business discussed.

  1. Program Guide Workshop – Program Guide Development using LERN techniques was presented by Kristy. Let Kristy know if you would like a copy of the power point.

  1. Broke for Lunch

  1. Healthy SD – Sandy and Linda informed us of Summary of Key Activities since the Release of the State Plan. They are several new materials available to everyone including the 5aDay campaign through the website. They handed out form for us to use their logo in our program guides. Sandy informed us on Flyer that are going to be printed with Health SD and SDPRA logos on them. She needs a count and information of those of us who will use them. Maximum is 1000 per community. SD Great Day of Play is August 15th. There was discussion on what each community will be doing and to inform them so it can be posted on the Healthy SD and SDPRA websites.
  2. State Games – Kristy and Linda informed the committee that there are a few individuals who are pushing for a South Dakota State Games. Through discussion it was mentioned that Rapid City would be willing to initiate this event, but would like to have it on a rotational basis. Further discussion concluded that Sioux Fall would be another option of hosting such a large event. One issue for Rapid City is the amount of association in leased agreement on facilities. We would have to have all of them on board for the event. Montana has a Commissioner for each sport. This was a suggestion to find a commissioner to oversee their individual sport. This maybe a good way to include those associations, and find the man power for the events.  It will be something to continue to do research on. There will be a round table for State Games at the Joint Conference in September to gain some perspective from North Dakota.

  1. Discuss next meeting – Kristy will talk with Barb and Kelby to find a good time at the Midwest Regional Conference in Sioux Falls. This is held in April.

  1. Meeting was adjourned

  1. Tour of Aquatics Facility
