The City of Carrol, Iowa, is seeking a highly motivated individual to develop daily work schedules for the seasonal and daily maintenance needs of city facilities and equipment with the park system. Must have effective communication skills; be able to implement and deliver high quality services. Plans, develops, and supervises the parks staff to ensure safe and efficient work practices. Recreation Superintendent, City of Carroll, Iowa

The City of Carroll, Iowa, is seeking a highly motivated individual to plan, organize and implement successful programs for a 60,000 sq. ft. building and 11,250 sq. ft. outdoor aquatic facility, nine baseball/softball fields and many soccer fields. Must have effective communication skills; be able to implement and deliver high quality programs/services. Plans, markets/promotes, develops, and supervises the recreational and aquatic programs for all ages. A degree in relevant academic field and four years relevant experience is preferred. CPO and American Red Cross Lifeguard Certificates within first twelve months of employment preferred. The Recreation Superintendent will supervise three full-time staff, and many part-time and seasonal employees. Candidate must be Customer Service oriented, energized by working with large numbers of people/members, prepared to create and lead change and willing to work with the Management Team to achieve the established goals and benchmarks for the Carroll Recreation Center and all recreational and aquatic programs. Parks and Recreation Director, City of Woodbury, Minnesota

The Parks and Recreation Director is responsible for leading a department of 20 full-time and part-time employees, as well as managing approximately $6.9 million in operating, capital and enterprise budgets. The position reports to the City Administrator.

Qualified candidates should have: A Bachelor’s degree in parks and/or recreation management, sports management, or related field; a Master’s degree is desired; Experience managing enterprise-based, or self-supporting recreation programs, is a plus; Eight or more years of increasingly responsible experience in the management of a public parks and recreation system, or similar client-based organization, is desirable; Experience developing and/or managing complex budgets in a municipal or park district setting; Minimum of three years supervisory experience; A collaborative and communicative approach to work; Comfort working with an array of stakeholders including elected officials, residents and intergovernmental contacts; and Passion for a fast-paced, demanding and rewarding environment.
